Eligible borrowers located in the five (5) Greater Philadelphia PA Counties (Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Delaware) include:
- commercial
- nonprofit
- government
- multifamily residential
- industrial entities
To qualify for an EnergyWorks building energy loan, the project must result in a 25% reduction in energy consumption.

What can you finance?
EnergyWorks offers construction loans, term loans and lease financing to support:
- Energy efficient building retrofits in existing occupied buildings
- Energy efficient machinery and equipment
- Energy efficient building practices in gut rehab projects
- Building-sited renewable energy systems and combined-heat-and-power systems that are part of a larger energy efficiency project
Examples of specific projects include:
- Building envelope improvements (air sealing, insulation, reflective roof, high-performance windows and exterior doors)
- Efficient heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems
- Lighting
- Daylighting (using natural light)
- Water efficiency (low-flow fixtures, domestic hot water heating systems, storm water retention – ONLY if the storm water is used on site to reduce water consumption)
- ENERGY STARĀ® appliances and measures
- Other energy technologies such as solar photovoltaic systems, solar hot water, geothermal, heat recovery systems and combined heat-and-power systems.
